What does 'influence' actually mean to a young person?
Influence is one of the four domains of the Lundy Model, which we adopt in our work with children and young people (you can access further details of this here)
Article 12 in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child states that children and young people have a right to have a say in all decisions which affect them. An ability and right to influence.
As adults we know what 'influence' means, and below you can see the summary of this from the Lundy Model. The focus of CORC's Participation in Research Officer, Rachael Stemp is to ensure that we understand a young person's perspective to ensure our work is effective for those it aims to benefit.
So Rachael asked a group of young people 'what does influence actually mean' to them, and captured this in a short animation.
