Introduce the survey
Introduce the survey and the types of questions pupils will be asked. It may be helpful to provide staff with resources and examples to support with this and reiterate to pupils:
- that it is not a test
- not to rush
- they can ask for help
- whether or not the survey is anonymous and how their responses will be used
- how they can access support with mental health and wellbeing.
Please ensure staff are appropriately informed and consider any implications in line with local safeguarding procedures. It is important that all pupils understand how to share concerns and access support if they need to.
During the survey
Where possible, pupils should complete the survey independently. Some pupils may require additional support from staff with reading or understanding the questions.
These resources may be useful:
After the survey
Some pupils will work through the survey very quickly. We recommend having a task ready for early finishers that won’t disturb others who are finishing the survey.
