Choosing appropriate outcome measures for an intervention or service Online Seminar

There are a wide range of outcome and feedback measures available to choose from, some of them well known, others less well known. Some long, some short, all intended for particular uses and users. This short training session will introduce participants to the range of measures available and support them in choosing those that are most suitable for their work.
It is suitable for anyone working to support and improve children’s mental heath and wellbeing, including (but not limited to) mental health practitioners and service providers, school support staff (SENCOs, counsellors, pastoral staff, learning mentors), youth workers, social workers.
Aims of this Training:
To explore the various types of outcome and feedback tools available and to understand how to follow a simple process to identify those that fit the needs of the support work that you are providing.
The session is particularly designed for those who can make decisions about which outcome measures to use within a support pathway, service or intervention.
Learning outcomes:
Learners will learn:
- About the range of outcome and feedback measures available and their associated purposes
- How to choose measures that are suitable for the intended purpose and context.
- How to select a combination of measures to get the most benefit from them

Lee Atkins
Regional Officer
As Regional Officer for the Midlands and South West, Lee seeks to support organisations and services to develop their evidence based and outcome focused approach for service improvement. Lee developed his passion for this work supporting the mental health and well-being of children and young people over 12 years across voluntary and statutory sectors. This experience gave him a keen understanding of the needs of children, young people and their families (CYPF) and a commitment to putting them at the centre of all support for them. Lee is excited by the variety and diversity of work that takes place for CYPF and seeks to better understand, to demonstrate and to improve the effectiveness of this support.
